Ort-Kategorie: Shopping
Anyone looking for oysters, mussels, and other seafood can easily find them in the supermarket or at the local weekly market. However, a trip directly to the producer offers the opportunity to purchase goods of maximum freshness straight from the source. The La Perle du Mès establishment is an ideal destination for this and can be combined with a visit to the picturesque fishing village of Kercabellec, where you can round off your shopping with a glass of chilled Muscadet at the bar of the quaint harbor.
Location and Accessibility from Our Holiday Home
The drive from our holiday home on Route de Kerhuet in Guérande to the harbor village of Kercabellec in the municipality of Mesquer is straightforward. The route goes north towards the coast and can be completed in a short drive by car. The shop is located right in the harbor area at Lieu-dit Kercabellec, close to Route de la Bôle de Merquel. Free parking spaces are available for visitors on site and in the immediate vicinity.
Opening Hours
The shop is open throughout the year six days a week during the following times:
-
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday to Friday: 09:00 to 12:00 and 14:30 to 18:00
- Saturday: 09:00 to 12:30 and 15:30 to 18:30
- Sunday and Public Holidays: 09:00 to 12:30
Hours may vary on public holidays, particularly in the afternoon, or the shop may close after the morning session.
Practical Tips for Your Visit
In addition to direct sales in the shop, the business also includes an integrated tasting area or oyster bar during the warmer months for on-site consumption. A useful tip concerns lunchtime: the shop operating hours are strictly divided into morning and afternoon slots, meaning the store remains closed between 12:00 and 14:30. For purchasing fresh oysters or mussels for dinner, it is therefore recommended to visit during the late afternoon from 16:00 onwards, when the products are ready for the evening and the morning rush has cleared.
