Ort-Kategorie: Restaurants
Walking along the rugged Côte Sauvage and gazing out over the Atlantic, visitors will come across a truly remarkable estate on Rue du Golf in Batz-sur-Mer. Built directly into the signature cliffs of the steep coastline, a beautifully renovated coastal villa over 110 years old has been brought back to life under the name Coco. The concept deliberately breaks away from the classic clichés of a traditional French beach restaurant, opting instead for a carefree holiday vibe with an international flair.
The Atmosphere: Casual Bohemian-Chic and front-row Sunset Views
The entire venue is designed to respect the wild character of nature while elegantly highlighting it. The outdoor area is a small paradise of hidden corners, a specially created mini-beach zone, and cozy seating arrangements placed directly onto the rocks. The ambiance radiates the casual charm of a modern, bohemian-style beach bar. A particular highlight is the front row of the terrace, offering an unobstructed panoramic view of the open ocean—the perfect spot to watch spectacular evening sunsets with a cocktail in hand.
The Cuisine: A Creative Fusion of the Atlantic and Peru
Culinary-wise, Coco sets itself apart with a modern and diverse menu that blends classic French ingredients with flavors from around the world, particularly South America. Many dishes are intentionally designed to be shared in good company.
Starters focus on refreshing, Latin-American-inspired tostadas with avocado and tuna, alongside traditional Peruvian fish dishes like Tiradito de Poulpe. For the main courses, the kitchen relies on two main pillars: freshly caught, raw seafood, and succulent meats and fish cooked over an open wood fire. Whether it is tender grilled octopus with a flavorful chimichurri sauce, oven-baked scallops, or a classic ribeye steak, the flavors are bold and perfectly executed. A sophisticated wine list and expertly crafted cocktails round out the culinary selection.
